James Wolken is a Senior Associate Attorney in the San Diego office. He strongly believes in building relationships with clients and tailoring his case handling strategies to meet his clients’ goals.
James was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2012. Since then, his practice has focused on workers’ compensation defense. Prior to joining Albert and Mackenzie, James worked at a large defense firm representing clients in various industries, including restaurants, hotels, airlines, public entities, and retail. Throughout his workers’ compensation career, James triumphantly received numerous doctor depositions resulting in doctors’ change of opinion. Additionally, James obtained multiple Take Nothings of EDD liens at Trial and had success with several fraud convictions.
James grew up in San Diego, California. His interests include home renovation/DIY projects, guitar, and photography. If his life had a theme song, it would be Learning to Fly by Tom Petty.
Three words that best describe James are funny, loyal, and adaptable. His favorite novel is The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom, as it changed his perspective on life and friendships. As for films, his all-time favorite movie is Memento.
