Rajinder Sungu is a Senior Associate Attorney in the Fresno office. He specializes in defense of all issues involving workers’ compensation claims. Raj has a background in economics, and he utilizes his analytical skills to provide his clients with an aggressive defense strategy that focuses on detailed claim valuation coupled with cost-effective early resolution of claims.
Throughout Raj’s workers’ compensation career, he has successfully acquired early settlements at values lower than the potential exposure, reduced WPI at cross-examinations of QMEs, and utilized sub-rosa to decrease the value of cases and force settlements at depositions.
Raj grew up in the United Kingdom as a child and then moved to Central California. His interests include playing traditional Punjabi folk instruments, flying, music, and cars. An ideal weekend for Raj consists of an outdoor hike/walk with his son and wife and taking a drive to the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Three words to describe Raj are loyal, humble, and caring. His favorite book is How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. As for his favorite holiday, Raj cherishes Thanksgiving because he enjoys cooking and feeding his friends and family.
Raj was inspired to pursue a career in law when his ninth-grade history teacher challenged him with passing the California Bar exam. He lives by the words, “Always believe in yourself.” If his life had a theme song, it would be “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.
