Therese Matthews is an Associate Attorney in the Agoura Hills office. She values building strong client relationships and is committed to providing responsive communication and thorough case preparation.
Therese was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2023. Before joining Albert & Mackenzie, she served as a Public Defender with San Diego County, advocating for individuals who could not afford legal representation. She later transitioned to workers’ compensation defense and now represents clients in matters throughout California.
Born in the Philippines and raised in Los Angeles, Therese was inspired to pursue a legal career at a young age by her grandfather, who practiced immigration law in the Philippines. If she could choose any legal figure as a mentor, it would be the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Outside of work, Therese enjoys reading and spending time with her family. An avid reader with favorites across nearly every genre, she would find it difficult to choose just one favorite novel. If Therese’s life had a theme song, it would be “Life Is Beautiful” by Vega4.
Fun fact: Therese’s all time favorite food is sushi.
