Agoura Hills, CA – On November 7, 2025, workers’ compensation professionals and industry partners came together with Albert & Mackenzie to make a lasting impact for foster youth across California. The firm’s first-ever Charity Golf Invitational raised $146,000 for California CASA, CASA of Los Angeles, and Peace4Kids, organizations that provide advocacy, mentorship, and stability to children in foster care.

Albert & Mackenzie employees, attorneys, claims professionals, doctors, vendors, family, and friends, joined for a day of golf, connection, and purpose. The evening reception featured opportunity drawings, golf awards, and a silent auction, followed by remarks from the beneficiary organizations that reminded everyone of the impact behind their efforts.

The Invitational was inspired by Albert & Mackenzie’s ongoing commitment to helping children in need of guidance and belonging. The firm has a longstanding connection with CASA and Peace4Kids, whose work continues to change lives across California. This event brought together the workers’ compensation community around a shared goal to strengthen these vital programs and the futures they shape.

Proceeds from the Invitational will directly benefit:

• California CASA and CASA of Los Angeles, which recruit, train, and support volunteer advocates appointed by judges to stand beside children in the child welfare system.
• Peace4Kids, which provides mentorship, leadership development, and a strong sense of community for youth transitioning out of foster care.

Albert & Mackenzie extends its gratitude to everyone who helped make this event possible, from the generous sponsors and players to those who volunteered their time to bring it all to life.

Mark Your Calendars
The firm looks forward to continuing this meaningful tradition. Please save the date for the second annual Charity Golf Invitational on November 6, 2026.

Agoura Hills, CA – This year, Albert & Mackenzie employees united for a cause close to their hearts, raising $16,023.79 for the California Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association. With a matching contribution from the firm, the total donation reached $32,047.58. This year’s charity drive reflects Albert & Mackenzie’s dedication to making a difference in the lives of foster children across California.

CASA’s mission is vital: to ensure every foster child has a dedicated advocate who stands up for their unique needs, offering support and stability as they navigate the complexities of the foster care system. For foster youth, CASA often becomes a source of trust, guiding them through a time that can feel uncertain and challenging.

For many at Albert & Mackenzie, this cause is more than just a donation. In addition to volunteers like Firm Managing Partner Bruce Albert and Managing Partner Sara Grumley, numerous employees have seen CASA’s impact up close – some as advocates and others as foster parents themselves. “Being a CASA volunteer allowed me to be there for a foster child when they needed it most, helping ensure their needs were heard and giving them opportunities they might not have had otherwise,” shares Bruce Albert. “We’re beyond grateful to our employees for their generosity. Together, we are making a lasting impact on young lives that deserve every chance to have a promising future.”

Bruce Albert’s involvement as a CASA advocate has focused on breaking down barriers for foster youth and helping them access the resources they need to thrive. Sara Grumley has also experienced the impact of CASA’s work, using her voice to support a child through tough decisions. The funds raised will help CASA expand services, train more volunteers, and raise awareness of the issues foster children face every day.

“We appreciate community partners who step up to help vulnerable children and youth in foster care,” said Sharon Lawrence, Chief Executive Officer, California CASA Association. “Thank you to all the staff members of Albert & Mackenzie for their generous donations and the company for matching their gifts. You are helping to ensure youth in foster care have trained Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers by their side to navigate the care system and to ensure they receive the services and opportunities they deserve.”

As Albert & Mackenzie continues its tradition of giving back, the firm remains committed to making a meaningful difference within its communities. This donation not only supports CASA’s vital mission but also brings hope and reassurance to foster children, reminding them that a caring community stands beside them, advocating for their future and believing in their potential.

Agoura Hills, CA – Albert & Mackenzie, a leading workers’ compensation defense firm in California, is pleased to announce this year’s philanthropic endeavors with a substantial donation to Guide Dogs of America. The firm’s annual charity drive is more than a tradition; it’s a collective effort that strongly aligns with the company’s values of creating positive and lasting impacts on communities.

Guide Dogs of America, driven by the mission to “transform lives through partnerships with service dogs,” stands as a beacon of light for individuals who are blind/visually impaired, veterans, and those with autism. The nonprofit organization breeds, raises, and trains guide dogs while also placing facility dogs in crucial roles within courtrooms, schools, and hospitals.

Albert & Mackenzie’s charity drive brings employees together to raise funds for a selected nonprofit organization, with the firm matching every dollar donated. In this instance, the firm collectively raised a remarkable $28,357.62 in support of Guide Dogs of America.

“We believe in contributing to causes that make an impactful difference in people’s lives,” said Bruce Albert, Firm Managing Partner at Albert & Mackenzie. “Supporting Guide Dogs of America is a source of immense pride as they work tirelessly to enhance the lives of individuals navigating the complexities of life. With our firm’s contribution, we strive to make a lasting impact and help those who rely on these incredible service animals.”

The partnership has gained immense appreciation from the nonprofit. Yvette R. Sheehan, Executive Assistant and Events Coordinator at Guide Dogs of America, stated, “It takes thousands of individuals to make our mission possible, and we want to take a moment and thank Albert & Mackenzie for joining our village. The partnerships we create between humans and service dogs transform lives. Because of your support, someone will receive the gift of a service dog, giving them hope for the future. Each day of their life will be better than the last because of the unconditional love, mobility, security, and confidence their dog provides.”

This collaboration not only reflects Albert & Mackenzie’s steadfast commitment to social impact initiatives but also underscores the firm’s acknowledgment of the impact that service animals can wield in the lives of individuals overcoming challenges.

Agoura Hills, CA – As a part of Albert & Mackenzie’s longstanding tradition, each year the firm selects a nonprofit organization as its charity drive beneficiary. For 2022, the firm organized a firm-wide fundraising effort for Peace4Kids, a grassroots organization serving youth in foster care, and raised a record total of $23,572.88.

Since 1998, Peace4Kids has built a community that opens new opportunities for foster youth to thrive. The nonprofit’s vision of “community as family” has enabled youth to develop trusting relationships within a community of peers and adults who have experienced similar issues. Through a community-focused approach, Peace4Kids empower youth to understand that they are not alone and guide them through trauma.

Bruce Albert, Firm Managing Partner of Albert & Mackenzie said, “Every child deserves a safe and loving family. Too often, youth in foster care have experienced neglect and abuse from parents with complex situations. Peace4Kids’ pursuit to advance the well-being and security of those in foster care is admirable, and I am honored to work with other volunteers to ensure foster children’s positive experiences when participating within P4K’s organization.”

“This annual charity tradition could not have been achieved without our employees’ participation and willingness to give back to the community. We are ecstatic to be a helping hand in providing education, instilling confidence, and building solid relationships for youth in foster care,” said Senior Managing Partner, Peter Mackenzie.

Every dollar raised directly supports Peace4Kids initiatives. This includes providing annual trainings for volunteers, sponsoring youth for life skills and self-development, underwriting healthy meals for children, funding transportation, activities, supplies, and more.

“Our corporate partners play an essential role in achieving our mission to create a safe environment where youth in foster care thrive and form long-lasting relationships,” expressed Zaid Gayle, Executive Director of Peace4Kids. “Albert & Mackenzie’s 2022 Fundraising Drive launches our season of giving in support of our strength-based programming, where youth develop their gifts, self-advocate, heal from trauma, and cultivate change alongside others with similar lived experiences. With their commitment, we are able to provide services to youth currently in and transitioning out of foster care, as well as to the communities in which they live.”

Agoura Hills, CA – Since 2016, Albert and Mackenzie have carried on an annual tradition of giving back to the community through a firm-wide charity drive. This year’s beneficiary is People Assisting the Homeless (PATH), a non-profit organization with a mission to end homelessness for individuals, families, and communities. Despite the challenges caused by the pandemic, our team’s involvement and determination has raised a total of $15,222 for PATH.

Founded in 2013, PATH has connected more than 9,000 people to permanent homes. This holiday season, PATH is actively working towards helping individuals relocate off the street and into homes of their own. The funds raised will go to the nonprofit’s supportive services such as street outreach, interim housing, mental health services, employment assistance, Veteran programs, and family services.

Photo Courtesy of People Assisting the Homeless

PATH Ventures, established by PATH, builds affordable rental housing for homeless individuals. The program also provides on-site services to support residents on their path to regain long-term stability, independence, and good health. On average, the nonprofit moves 23 people into permanent homes per week.

“Our corporate partners play an invaluable role in our mission to end homelessness. Albert & Mackenzie’s 2021 Fundraising Drive has helped kick off our season of giving as we raise money to help our unhoused neighbors make it home. Your support allows us to provide outreach, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing to our unhoused communities across the state of California,” expressed Jennifer Hark Dietz, Deputy CEO of PATH.

“It is important to support those that enrich our communities. On behalf of the firm, we are so proud to have the opportunity to support PATH and their efforts to serve and advocate for those in need,” said Bruce Albert, Founder and Firm Managing Partner of Albert & Mackenzie. “I would also like to thank the employees of Albert & Mackenzie for participating in our charity drive. This treasured tradition of ours continues to be a success due in large part to our entire team.”

Los Angeles, CA – Albert & Mackenzie is proud to support the Safe Place for Youth’s (SPY) first ever virtual youth summit, “A Season of Change: Cultivating Transformative Wellness”. SPY is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering homeless adolescence in Los Angeles to prosper by providing lasting, community-driven solutions that address racial and social inequity.

In partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and Elevate, SPY will be hosting the virtual youth summit on October 23, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PST. This year’s event is aimed to improve the systems around emotional and mental wellness and physical health. The summit brings the community together to reassess avenues to healing and strengthen youth with the tools needed to achieve wellness entirely.

“Many of the young people Safe Place for Youth works with don’t have equal access to health and wellness resources, which can limit them from tapping into their full potential. The committee that has planned this event includes young people with lived experience and having their voices threaded throughout this event is integral to really explore how we can all help to transform systems to best serve some of our society’s most vulnerable. We believe everyone deserves access to wellness and that true wellness is essential for young people to reach their potential,” expressed Martel Okonji, Director of Innovations at SPY.

Albert & Mackenzie’s recent donation towards SPY’s 2021 youth summit enables the nonprofit to continue to offer impactful programs. These programs include housing, case management, education and employment support, street outreach, and more. “We admire SPY’s advocacy and persistence in building a strong foundation for the Los Angeles youth community. It is an honor to support such an incredible organization,” said Bruce Albert, Founder and Firm Managing Partner of Albert & Mackenzie.

Albert & Mackenzie Joins the Los Angeles Urban League to Recognize and Award Local Youths’ Achievements

Los Angeles, CA – In partnership with the Los Angeles Urban League, Albert & Mackenzie is proud to support the organization’s 2021 Black High School Graduation: Rites of Passage event, a nationwide high school commencement ceremony celebrating high achieving students in underprivileged communities.

The Los Angeles Urban League empowers African Americans and other minorities to reach their highest social parity, economic self-reliance, power, and civil rights through education, job training, housing and community development, workforce development, entrepreneurship, health, and quality of life. Albert & Mackenzie believes in the Los Angeles Urban League’s mission and has contributed $20,000 to the organization’s event. The total donation by sponsors provides scholarship awards to 77 selected students as a recognition of their academic excellence and future aspirations. Albert & Mackenzie’s donations contribute to 36 of those awards, which will go to African American high school students in Los Angeles County.

Brian Williams, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Los Angeles Urban League stated, “The Los Angeles Urban League has helped make college affordable for seventy-seven high school graduates, including 42 students from the state of California, and we could not have done it without the support of our partners at ALBMAC.”

The monumental event takes place today, June 4, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time and will include various segments such as scholarship presentations, musical performances, comedy, and a bi-coastal DJ battle.

For years, Albert & Mackenzie has dedicated itself to being a good corporate citizen to local communities. A number of employees will partake in the ceremony to celebrate with the scholarship recipients their milestones and to learn more about their educational interests and where they are headed. “Albert and Mackenzie is truly excited to partner with the Los Angeles Urban League in their efforts to help promote education and opportunity for young individuals. We are very proud to be a part of the Rites of Passage event because we have always believed in the notion that a rising tide lifts all boats. Los Angeles Urban League’s preeminent reputation feels like a natural pairing for our organization and inspires us to be a part of a larger mission to expand diversity and inclusion for everyone”, expressed Russ Neault, the Executive Director of Albert & Mackenzie.

“ALBMAC sought out the Urban League and kept pursuing the idea of a scholarship program at a time when we couldn’t raise money for our students’ education. They just wanted to do some good, and from their seed donation, the Urban League was able to raise an additional $80,000 and help over six dozen African American students from low-income and working-class families. College is now attainable for these students who faced massive barriers, and we are grateful for ALBMAC for that,” explained Jamecca Marshall, the Director of Programs for the Los Angeles Urban League.
