Peter Mackenzie is the firm’s Executive Partner having formed Albert and Mackenzie in 2003. He has extensive experience in the defense of workers’ compensation claims, Labor Code §132a, and Serious and Willful misconduct claims. Peter is well-versed in the depositions of injured workers, physicians, and witnesses and believes that a claim can often be successfully defended at deposition.
Peter’s creative and earnest approach to claims has resulted in more than 25 Take Nothing Awards. He leverages his experience to anticipate where a claim is going long before it gets there and uses his knowledge as a vehicle for early case resolution. Peter is a member of the State Bar of California, American Bar Association, and Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorneys’ Association.
Peter grew up in New York and Southern California. When time permits, he enjoys playing the electric guitar and doing yoga. An ideal weekend for Peter consists of peace and quiet.
Peter’s first ever job was an ice cream scooper at Clancy Muldoon’s in Santa Monica. His need to find order in the world inspired him to pursue a career in law. If he could select any individual as a mentor, it would be Bruce Lee.
When it comes to basketball season, Peter is rooting for the Los Angeles Lakers. As for Peter’s number one goal on his bucket list, he would like to go cage diving with Great White Sharks near South Africa. He lives by the phrase, “Luceo Non Uro”, which is his family’s motto for “Shine, but don’t burn.” Fun fact: Peter has climbed to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite.
