Bruce Albert is the founder and Firm Managing Partner, having established Albert and Mackenzie in 2000. His extensive expertise includes the defense of workers’ compensation claims, in conjunction with appellate work before the California Supreme Court. Bruce also handles civil claims, including, but not limited to, the defense of discrimination claims under Labor Code §132a and Serious and Willful Misconduct claims under Labor Code §4553. He was lead defense counsel on Escobedo vs. WCAB regarding apportionment. In addition, Bruce is a sought-after speaker and has lectured throughout California and provides seminars for employers and other claims professionals on a continuous basis.

With a passion to deliver the highest quality of service to clients, Bruce is focused on ensuring all attorneys’ work product meets the firm’s high standards. He remains dedicated in his mission to develop and encourage the most efficient and effective policies and procedures throughout all levels of the firm.

Bruce is a Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation law. He is licensed to practice law in the State of California and is a member of the California State Bar, as well as a member of the United States District Court for the Central and Southern California Districts.

Bruce grew up in Long Island, New York up until he was 16 years old. He then moved to New Jersey before coming to California for law school. His interests include hiking, and anything related to the ocean. As for Bruce’s favorite place in the world, it is a tie between Hawaii and his homeplace, New York City.

Bruce lives by the phrase, “If you do all your work and don’t take any shortcuts, there is no way you can fail.” His first ever jobs were delivering Newsday newspaper and The Pennysaver at 10 years old. The challenges, excitement, results, and interaction with others, are what Bruce enjoys most about his job.
