Joi Fox

Supervising Attorney

WCAB Venues Covered:Long Beach, Los Angeles, Marina Del Rey, Santa Ana

Joi Fox is a Supervising Attorney in the Long Beach office. She believes in the importance of client communication and collaboration to obtain the most cost-effective resolution of claims. Joi has handled a diverse array of claims and settlements, and is well-versed with all phases of litigation, from discovery through the appellate process.

Throughout Joi’s workers’ compensation career, she has received two Take Nothings, recovered over $650,000 in Contribution/Reimbursement monies from co-defendants, and lessened exposure of penalties by thousands of dollars for a client. Prior to joining Albert and Mackenzie, Joi worked at a large workers’ compensation defense firm where she specialized in the defense of workers’ compensation audits/regulatory compliance, asbestos claims, complex multi-party claims, professional athlete claims, public safety Labor Code presumptions, and high exposure claims.

Joi grew up in Long Beach and San Bernardino, California. Her ideal weekend involves spending time at the beach with her family and friends, barbequing, and listening to music. Joi appreciates all genres of music, but her favorite is class 60’s rock. She enjoys trying new restaurants, cooking, camping, and going to the beach and classic car shows.

Three words to describe Joi are determined, versatile, and positive. If her life had a theme song, it would be “One Love” by Bob Marley. Focused on being the best version of herself, Joi lives by the phrase, “Comparison is the thief of joy.”

Joi’s first job was as a lifeguard for the City of San Bernardino’s Parks and Recreations Department. If she was not an attorney, she would love to teach children swim lessons or be a park ranger.
