S. Alfonso Smith is a Senior Associate Attorney in the Inland Empire office. He strongly believes in the importance of client communication and efficiently focuses on resolving cases in the most cost-effective manner.
Alfonso was admitted to the State Bar of California and all Federal District Courts in 2017. He became a Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist in 2022. Before joining Albert & Mackenzie, he practiced workers’ compensation defense across California, including in-house counsel for the third largest worker’s compensation carrier in California. He is known for his strategic approach and attention to detail, achieving successful outcomes such as securing a Take Nothing finding on a cumulative trauma case.
Alfonso grew up in Orange County, California and enjoys spending his weekends hiking in the morning and winding down with anime and a bowl of tonkatsu ramen.
His life motto is inspired by 2 Corinthians 12:10: “I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
