Samantha Burkat is an Associate Attorney in the Long Beach office. She believes in the importance of client communication and utilizes aggressive litigation techniques to successfully resolve cases in the most cost-effective manner.
Samantha has been successful in trials defending AOE/COE denied claims, resulting in multiple Take Nothing decisions. Samantha’s strategic talent with depositions and discovery has led to an applicant pleading guilty to workers’ compensation fraud and being ordered to pay restitution to the Defendant. Prior to joining Albert and Mackenzie, she worked as a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney making appearances throughout Southern California.
Samantha grew up in Placentia, California. Her hobbies include traveling domestically and internationally, going to concerts, spending time outdoors, and reading. She is also active in a charity and networking organization that provides financial support to a local home for the elderly in Los Angeles.
An ideal weekend for Samantha comprises of good coffee, a walk on the beach, and spending quality time with her family and friends. Her favorite food is sushi, and she enjoys any pizza topped with a runny egg. If her life had a theme song, it would be “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty.
Three words to describe Samantha are enthusiastic, independent, and conscientious. Her favorite place in the world is the botanical gardens at the Huntington Library. Fun fact: Although Samantha was born in the U.S., her first language was Russian.
