Samantha Burkat is an Associate Attorney in the Long Beach office. She focuses on the defense of workers’ compensation claims on behalf of employers, carriers, and third-party administrators from inception to resolution. Samantha believes in the importance of client communication and utilizes aggressive litigation techniques to successfully resolve cases in the most cost-effective manner.
Samantha was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2013. Since that time, her practice has focused primarily on workers’ compensation defense. Prior to joining Albert and Mackenzie, she worked as a workers’ compensation defense attorney at another firm, making appearances throughout Southern California.
She has been successful in trials defending AOE/COE denied claims, resulting in multiple “take nothing” decisions. Samantha has also represented a Worker’s Compensation claim, which, due to strategic depositions and discovery, resulted in an applicant pleading guilty to Workers’ Compensation fraud and being ordered to pay restitution to the Defendant.
Samantha graduated from San Diego State University in 2009 with a Bachelors in Science Degree in Business Administration with a major emphasis in Finance. She obtained her Juris Doctor Degree from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2012.
