Senior Associate Attorney



Susan R. Morris joined Albert and Mackenzie in 2010 and serves as a Senior Associate Attorney in our Los Angeles area office. She provides skilled defense of workers’ compensation claims, including Labor Code Section 132a and Serious Willful Claims, representing employers, third-party administrators and insurance carriers. Susan manages multi-party disputes involving issues of contribution, apportionment, and reimbursement.   Susan prides herself on direct and engaged client communications to facilitate expeditious and cost-effective claim resolution.

Susan was admitted to the California State Bar in 1984 and the Colorado Supreme Court in 1993. Prior to joining Albert and Mackenzie, her practice focused on construction litigation, general corporate and business transactions, and mediation.

Susan attended the University of San Diego, School of Law, graduating cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree in 1984. She received her LL.M in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University School of Law in 2003. She completed studies in International and Comparative Law at Oxford University, England in 1982. Susan graduated magna cum laude from UCLA, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1981.


Effective negotiations focused on early settlement to avoid protracted litigation, costs of discovery and med-legal, and ongoing indemnity exposure.

Workers’ compensation law, including subrogation matters, the defense of discrimination claims under Labor Code section 132a and Serious and Willful Misconduct claims under Labor Code section 4553.
